Jemma Goeson took 10th out of 80 runners in the Perham junior high girls race

Last Thursday the New York Mills cross country team ran in the biggest meet of the year in Perham where there were over 1,200 runners involved. Jemma Goeson placed 10th out of 80 runners in the JH girls’ race. At the meet Finn Costin, Gus Tumberg, Jemma Goeson, Helena Kimber, Heath Hammond, Noah Radniecki and Loren Underdahl all had a PR (personal record). 

In the elementary races, Chavez Cannon took sixth place in the boys race. The elementary girls team took fifth out of seven teams and the elementary boys team took fourth out of seven teams.

After the meet, Coach Heidi Dresser said “It’s exciting to see all of our Eagle runners do well whether they are our young elementary athletes or our junior high and varsity runners.”

Next up for the cross country team is the Park Region Conference meet Tuesday at Balmoral Golf Course, followed by the Section 8A meet on Friday, Oct. 24 in Bagley.
