Local youth with have the chance to get some candy a little early this year as the Deer Creek Fire and Rescue, as well as Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, will be hosting the third annual Trunk or Treat event on Sunday.

The event will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek parking lot and will go from 4-5:30 p.m.

Trunks and candy can be created by anyone in the region and they do not need to be members of Trinity Lutheran Church or the Deer Creek Fire and Rescue to participate. The event featured several dozen trunks and well over 100 youth who participated in the trunk or treat last year.

There will be trunk or treats in both New York Mills and Ottertail on Halloween night. The trunk or treat in NY Mills will be held at Mills Country Market from 4:30-6:30 p.m., while the Ottertail trunk or treat will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Ottertail Community Center.
