The New York Mills Eagles cross country team ran in the Park Region Conference meet last Tuesday at Balmoral Golf Course near Battle Lake. 

On a damp day the runners did well as Jemma Goeson placed fifth in the junior high girls’ race and Helena Kimber came in 14th. In the junior high boys’ race Finn Costin placed 17th and Gus Tumberg came in 18th with a PR. 

In the varsity boys’ race Jacob Thorsrud took 38th place while Heath Hammond, and Dawson Seelhammer both had a PR.

After the meet Coach Greg Esala said, “Our team ran well today with many of them placing well and/or posting a PR (personal record). That’s great to see!”

Now the Eagles head to Bagley on Friday, Oct. 24 for the Section 8A meet.
