A Horace, N.D. man has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for stealing a skid steer in late 2024 from Carr’s Tree Service in Ottertail.
The sentencing was part of a plea deal with charges of theft and receiving stolen property related to a string of thefts across Otter Tail and Clay Counties in Minnesota and Cass County in North Dakota dropped.
Scott Adelman, 53, was sentenced to one year at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud – stayed for 5 years, 90-days in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility and $10,000 in fines for stealing property from Carr’s Tree Service valued over $35,000.
Carr’s Tree Service reported in September of 2024 that a skid steer with an estimated value of $85,000 had been stolen. The skid steer was eventually recovered a mile away from Adelman’s home in Horace.
