VFW 3289 Auxiliary minutes

The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met October 9 with 17 members and one guest present.

Minutes from the September 11 meeting were approved, and the September Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for October 2025 from the Department President was read and discussed. A thank you card was received from the recipient of a medical grant.

In other business:

• Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2025-2026.

• Approved payment of current bills.

• Approved the audit of July-September Auxiliary records.

• Two applications for membership were received and approved.

• Heard a report from District 9 Trustee Jamie Cassavant, who reviewed our Auxiliary’s procedures and records. She commended President Quist for sharing information with the Auxiliary members, giving everyone the opportunity to ask questions and be a mentor to others.

• The Auxiliary participated in the Welcoming Communities event on September 16.

• The rummage sale in September was successful and raised funds to support youth and community programs. Many Auxiliary members helped over the five days – accepting donations from community members, setting up, and working during the sale.

• The POW/MIA remembrance was held October 3.

• Discussed plans for participation in future events:

• Membership Appreciation Dinner – Sunday, October 19 at the VFW

• Veterans Day Program – Tuesday, November 11 at the New York Mills School Auditorium. Quilts of Valor will be presented and essays will be read by winners of the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen contests.

• Cancer and Family Aid Benefit – Friday, November 14. Raffle tickets for the drawing are $1 each.

• VFW Memorial Fund Live Auction – Saturday, November 22. Donations are being accepted and may be dropped off at the VFW. Funds raised will be used for club improvements.
