“When times are uncertain, our communities show their true strength,” said Anna Wasescha, President of West Central Initiative. “We’re inspired by the generosity and compassion that define our region, and we’re honored to help ensure no one goes hungry.”

As the federal government shutdown continues, the stakes are high for thousands of our neighbors who rely on SNAP benefits to put food on the table. In west central Minnesota alone, approximately 19,800 people—including 8,000 children—are recipients of SNAP benefits.

To help bridge the gap, West Central Initiative is donating $30,000 to local food shelves and food pantries serving our region. These funds will support families and individuals facing food insecurity during this critical time, helping to ensure that everyone has access to healthy, nourishing food. You can join us in supporting your neighbors:

Donate to local food shelves and food pantries – Every dollar helps put nourishing food on the tables of our neighbors in need.

Volunteer your time – Help distribute food, organize donations, or spread the word about local hunger relief efforts.
