Chase Tibbetts releases a strike attempt during Class A tournament play on November 22.

The New York Mills Eagles varsity bowling team capped an impressive season with a strong showing at the Minnesota Class A State Tournament on November 22 at Park Grove Bowl in St. Paul Park. After a year marked by growth, consistency and a full roster for both JV and varsity, the Eagles took the lanes ready to compete.

The varsity lineup—Macy Mursu, Emily DeYonge, Reegan Baymler, Blake Hiltner, Chase Tibbetts and Brock Ruther—bowled with heart from the first frame. They stayed loose, supported each other and showed the same steady teamwork that carried them through the regular season.

Coaches Ruth Ramsay and Maureen Baymler noted the group’s sportsmanship throughout the day, especially in tight matches where every pin mattered.

NY Mills performed well in pool play, earning a spot in the bracket round. The team battled through competitive matchups, working hard and keeping their energy up, even when momentum shifted. After falling out of bracket play, the Eagles moved into the placement round and fought for position among the remaining teams. While they didn’t secure fifth place, their performance reflected the same grit and composure they’ve carried all season.

For a program that continues to grow, this was a season worth celebrating: a full varsity squad, a return to state, and a team that represented New York Mills with pride, skill, and plenty of fun along the way.
