The New York Mills Eagles wrapped up the 2025 portion of their schedule with a perfect 5-0 record after sweeping the Sebeka Holiday Tournament last week. After defeating the host Sebeka Trojans 80-62 on Monday night, which also improved the Eagles to 3-0 in the Park Region Conference, NY Mills defeated Fond du Lac 111-49 on Tuesday afternoon to capture first place in the tournament.
In Monday’s game against the Trojans, NY Mills was able to pick up its third conference win of the season with an 80-62 win over Sebeka.
The Eagles were led by four players who all reached double figures, including Jacob Thorsrud who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Sean Dresser led the way with 19 points, while Kolston Lofgren scored 15 and Bergen Roder scored 13.
On Saturday Kolston Lofgren had a game to remember as the sophomore scored 43 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists as the Eagles defeated Fond du Lac Ojibwe 111-49 in the championship game of the Sebeka Holiday Tournament. Lofgren’s 43 points nearly totaled the entire Fond du Lac team that scored 49 as the Eagles powered their way to a 5-0 start to their season.
In addition to Lofgren, Gage Brasel scored 16 points, while Bergen Roder scored 10, Jacob Thorsrud scored eight, Sean Dresser scored seven, Heath Hammond scored seven, Eli Vaughan scored six, Jeremy Kopveiler scored six, Finn Roder scored five and Gannon Theisen rounded out the scoring with three.
Thorsrud once again reached double figures in rebounding with 15 to lead the way for the Eagles, while Brasel, Bergen Roder and Finn Roder each picked up four assists in the win.
One year after needing 15 games to win their fifth contest of the season and finishing 8-19 overall, NY Mills will bring a perfect 5-0 record into Saturday’s non-conference game against Parkers Prairie on Saturday as part of a boys-girls doubleheader. The girls game against the Panthers is scheduled to tip off at 12 p.m., while the boys game will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. Following Saturday’s game, the Eagles will hit the road for a Park Region Conference game against the Menahga Braves on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
NY Mills is currently tied with Henning atop the conference with a perfect 3-0 record in PRC action, while Pillager is in third place with a record of 3-1 overall.
