0Family escapes ‘total loss’ holiday blaze
Early New Year’s Eve morning a house fire on East Lake Street in Parkers Prairie was reported to Otter Tail County Dispatch.
According to an Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, the house was completely engulfed in flames by the time of arrival of the fire department at approximately 7 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Three family members had been inside the residence when the fire was reported, but were able to evacuate the home without injury, according to the press release.
“It was believed that at least one dog was killed in the fire.”
The home of a family of seven is believed to be a total loss.
The incident remains under investigation.
Fire departments from Parkers Prairie, Miltona and Henning all responded to the scene, assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Parkers Prairie Ambulance, the Parkers Prairie Police Department and the Minnesota Fire Marshall’s Office.
