Eagles are tied for third in conference standings

The New York Mills Eagles improved to 5-8 overall and 4-4 in the Park Region Conference with a 70-48 win over Verndale on Friday night. The win comes on the heels of a tough 51-49 loss to Henning on Tuesday night.

The Eagles are currently tied for third place in the conference with Bertha-Hewitt and Henning with a record of 4-4. Menahga is 8-0, while Wadena-Deer Creek is 6-1. NY Mill is averaging 51.9 points per game on offense, while giving up 58.4 points per game defensively.

This week they will host Rothsay on Tuesday night in a non-conference game, before heading to Sebeka on Thursday night for a Park Region Conference rematch against the Trojans. NY Mills defeated Sebeka 57-47 on Dec. 5 in their first match up of the season.

On Monday the Eagles will host Browerville in non-conference action and on Tuesday the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines will come to town for their second match up against the Eagles. 

After having a number of road games to start the season, Monday’s game against Browerville will begin an extended home stand to end the season with 10 of NY Mills’ final 11 games being in the friendly confines of NY Mills.
