The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met January 8 with 15 members present.

Minutes from the December 11 meeting were approved, and the December Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for January 2026 from the Department President was read and discussed.  Our Auxiliary received a thank you card for a donation to the Veterans Honor Flight of North Dakota and Minnesota, a thank you for participating in the New York Mills Christmas Tree Festival, a thank you card from a member who received a medical grant, cards from members and others who were remembered with a sympathy card, and several cards thanking us for holiday food baskets.  We mailed thank you cards to KLN and United Community Bank for their donations to soldier care packages.

In other business:

• Committee Chairs gave an update on our programs for 2025-2026.  We will take a poppy display to the Mid-Winter Conference later this month.

• One application for a member transferring to our Auxiliary was received and approved.

• Approved payment of current bills.

• Approved two medical grants, a donation to the VFW National Home, and sponsorship of the 2026 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Minnesota.

• Approved the audit of October-December Auxiliary records.

• Holiday gifts were delivered to the Fergus Falls Veterans Home for two residents, and 20 food baskets were delivered to shut-ins in December.

• The District 9 meeting in Detroit Lakes on December 13 included a presentation on the building project at the Fargo Veterans National Cemetery.

• Discussed plans for a breakfast at the VFW on Sunday, February 22 to raise funds for the Honor Flight.

• We will host a District 9 meeting in New York Mills on Saturday, March 21.  Donations are needed for raffle baskets.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m.
