The New York Mills Eagles increased their winning streak to five games and improved to 14-2 overall and 8-2 in the Park Region Conference with a pair of wins last week.

After defeating Wadena-Deer Creek by a score of 73-57 on Monday night, the Eagles hosted Menahga on Friday night and defeated the Braves by a score of 81-41. 

NY Mills is currently tied with Pillager in second place in the conference with both teams at 8-2 as the Eagles will head into one of their busiest weeks of the season with a road game in Park Rapids on Monday night, before heading home to host top ranked and conference leading Henning on Tuesday. 

On Thursday the Eagles will host Pillager in a match up between the two teams tied for second place in the conference, before hosting Bertha-Hewitt on Friday. 

Monday

NY Mills completed a season sweep over Wadena-Deer Creek on Monday night by defeating the Wolverines by a score of 73-57. The Eagles defeated WDC by a sore of 76-72 on Dec. 11.

Finn Roder led the charge for the Eagles as the senior recorded a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Bergen Roder added 18 points, while Kolston Lofgren and Sean Dresser scored nine points.

Jacob Thorsrud was a force in the paint as he scored eight points to go along with a team-high 17 rebounds, Gage Brasel scored four points, Heath Hammond scored three and Jeremy Kopveiler rounded out the scoring with two points of his own.

Eight Eagles reached the scoring column and Jacob Thorsrud recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds as NY Mills completed a season sweep over the Menahga Braves on Friday night.
After defeating the Braves by a score of 73-42 on Jan. 6, the Eagles came away with an 81-41 win over Menahga on Friday night.

In addition to Thorsrud’s big game, Sean Dresser scored 16 points, Heath Hammond scored 11 points, Gage Brasel recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Finn Roder scored nine points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Bergen Roder scored eight points, Kolston Lofgren scored five points and Trygg Roder rounded out the scoring with two points.
