The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center (NYMRCC) is continuing its commitment to accessible, community-centered wellness with the return of yoga programming for the Winter–Spring 2026 season. Classes with instructor Bobbi Jo Hamilton began earlier this month and run February through May, offering multiple gentle, adaptable options for participants of all experience levels.

Yoga at NYMRCC welcomes both newcomers and returning practitioners. Classes emphasize body awareness, personal choice, and nervous system support in a calm, inclusive environment where participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies and move at their own pace.

All classes are led by Bobbi Jo Hamilton, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), yoga teacher, and owner of Northwoods Velvære Studio. Hamilton brings a somatic, body-centered approach that blends gentle movement, mindful breath, and self-compassion practices. Her teaching prioritizes comfort, adaptability, and inner awareness rather than performance or rigid alignment.

The Winter–Spring 2026 yoga season includes three offerings:

Wednesday Body-Led Yoga Flow

Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m. from February 11–March 25, 2026

This seven-week series is offered at a $5 community rate per class to encourage new and returning participants. Classes focus on slow, intuitive movement guided by the body and are designed as a supportive midweek reset.

Friday Body-Led Yoga Flow

Fridays, 10-11 a.m. from February 6–May 29, 2026

A steady weekly class offering gentle, mindful movement to support balance, mobility, and ease. This class is well-suited for beginners, those returning to yoga, and anyone seeking a calm, body-aware practice. The drop-in rate is $18 per class; 5-class ($80) and 10-class ($140) punch cards are also available.

Gentle Chair-Supported Movement (Monthly)

Second Friday of each month, 8-9 a.m. from February–May 2026

Designed for adults who prefer or benefit from seated and supported movement, this monthly class includes time for arrival, gentle chair-supported movement, and closing rest and reflection. Offered at a $10-per-class community rate.

No prior yoga experience is required for any class. All bodies, abilities, and experience levels are welcome. Yoga at the Cultural Center emphasizes gentle movement, deep listening, and meaningful connection—both within oneself and with others.
