Geiser qualifies for the state speech meet

Payton Lausten placed fourth and Elijah Geiser placed second at the section speech meet at Perham High School on April 11. Geiser qualified for the state meet, which will be held from April 24-25.
On Saturday, April 11, seven qualifying New York Mills speech competitors competed at the MSHSL 6A Section Tournament hosted by Perham High School, where the top three competitors in each event advance to the State Tournament.
Payton Lausten placed fourth in Prose Interpretation, which ended her season.
Elijah Geiser placed second in Humorous Interpretation, advancing to the state speech meet hosted by Park Center High School from April 24–25. His team and coaches are proud of him and his return to the state speech meet.
