Custom printing and embroidery have become a fun and unique way to promote a business or organization through the years. Bleubird Printing is hoping to continue that tradition as they take over AP Printing in downtown New York Mills. ¶ The new business venture from Hunter and Kiana Truax, of Bertha, began after Hunter began visiting with AP Printing owner Adam Patron about a desire to scale back his responsibilities with the business. ¶ “Adam is friends with my husband and they work together and he was getting too busy and was looking to sell it,” said Truax. “We expanded it a little bit, got some more printing presses and got embroidery, so it has been good.” ¶ Hunter and Kiana took over late last year and early this year and have been enjoying the opportunity to work with local businesses and groups as they create custom apparel to promote their businesses and organizations. ¶ Kiana has taken the lead on the company as they transformed a portion of their home by Bertha into a custom apparel shop. While they no longer operate a storefront in NY Mills they do still have deep connections to the area. They have taken over AP Printing’s customer list and are still at Farmer’s and Merchant’s State bank in town.

Kiana Truax works on a recent order for Bleubird Printing, which recently purchased AP Printing in New York Mills.
“We are still delivering to the area too so if people need it brought to the area we can do that,” said Kiana. “We are trying to keep all of the local businesses that Adam had used. We are here for small orders or big orders.”
Kiana said Bleubird Printing creates everything from embroidery to screen printing and will even create some custom logos to help a business or group promote themselves to the public. She has enjoyed the opportunity to get to meet customers and people in the greater NY Mills area and is looking forward to the opportunity to expand their new business venture.
“I really enjoy the work of creating things and just kind of using my hands. I kept a lot of the same clients Adam had and it is just fun meeting new people. I just enjoy the work,” said Kiana.
