New York Mills improved to 4-2 in the Park Region Conference and 6-5 overall with a sweep over Pillager on Tuesday night. In addition to their conference wins, the Eagles played Red Lake Falls on Thursday and traveled to Litchfield for a large tournament on Friday and Saturday.
This week the Eagles traveled to Frazee on Monday, before traveling to Sebeka for a doubleheader on Tuesday, Parkers Prairie for a doubleheader on Wednesday and Otter Tail Central for a doubleheader on Thursday.
After seven games in just four days, the Eagles will be off on Friday, but will travel to Jackson on Saturday for the annual Jackson County Central Tournament.

Tuesday
NY Mills swept a doubleheader against Pillager on Tuesday night by scores of 8-5 and 12-2.
In the opening game of the night, the Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning when Aubree Salo hit an RBI single, Chloe Costin hit into a fielder’s choice and the Eagles scored on a passed ball. NY Mills would go on to score three more runs in the fifth inning and a pair of runs in the second inning to come away with the win.
Abby Berndt led the way offensively with a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Costin also collected two hits and two RBIs in the win.
Rosemary Laudenbach collected the win in the circle as she went all seven innings and gave up seven hits, five runs of which two were earned, eight walks and six strike outs.
In the second game of the night, the NY Mills bats came alive as they pumped out 12 runs and nine hits to come away with a 12-2 win over the Huskies.
The Eagles jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the top of the first inning thanks to a Bella Huwe RBI double, an Abby Berndt two-run single, an error that brought a run across the plate and an inside the park grand slam by Aurora Jabas.
NY Mills added to its lead in the third inning when Chloe Costin drew a bases loaded walk and Berndt connected with a two-run single.
Berndt collected the win in the circle as she went five innings, gave up five hits, two runs, struck out seven and walked five.
Shauna Geiser led the way offensively with three hits, while Jabas and Berndt each finished with a pair of hits and four RBIs.

Thursday
Rosemary Laudenbach gave up just two runs on six hits, while striking out three batters and walking one, but it wasn’t enough as the NY Mills Eagles fell to Red Lake Falls by a score of 2-0 on Thursday night.
Red Lake Falls got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning after Kylie Klipping hit an RBI double and Shandi Nelson hit an RBI single to put Red Lake Falls up 2-0. From there, both pitchers took over as Red Lake collected just six hits and NY Mills three hits in the game.
The Eagles were led offensively by Shauna Geiser, Laudenbach and Aurora Jabas who each collected one hit.

Friday
NY Mills made the trek to Litchfield on Friday for a two-day tournament. In the first game of the tournament, NY Mills fell to Eden Valley-Watkins by a score of 14-12 in a game that had a wild finish.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning on an Eden Valley-Watkins error and an Aubree Salo and Abby Berndt fielder’s choice that each brought a run across the plate. The Eagles added to their lead in the second inning when Bella Huwe hit an RBI single, Annika Dunrud hit a sacrifice fly and Shauna Geiser hit an RBI single to put the Eagles up 6-0. The Eagles made the score 9-0 in the top of the third inning when Huwe hit a three-run home run.
NY Mills made the score 10-0 in the top of the fourth inning, but unfortunately, Eden Valley-Watkins scored seven runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to come away with a 14-12 win.
Huwe led the way offensively with three hits and four RBIs, while Shauna Geiser picked up three hits and a pair of RBIs.
Rosemary Laudenbach took the loss in the circle as she went 4 2/3 innings and gave up eight hits, nine runs of which three were earned, walked three and struck out one. Abby Berndt pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up four hits, five runs of which four were earned, walked one and struck out one.

Saturday
NY Mills picked up a convincing 10-2 win against Class AAA Marshall by a score of 10-2. The Eagles got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning when Alivia Preuss hit an RBI single and Addy Johnson hit a fielder’s choice that scored a run. Annika Dunrud, Aurora Jabas and Shauna Geiser each led the way with two hits in the win.
Rosemary Laudenbach got the win for the Eagles as she surrendered just three hits, two runs both of which were unearned, she struck out five hitters and walked two.
In their game against Barnum, NY Mills took an early 4-3 lead in the top of the second inning off a two-run error, a Rosemary Laudenbach RBI triple and an error that brought another run across the plate. Unfortunately, Barnum took the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning to come away with the 14-3 win.
Barnum outhit the Eagles by a 12-3 margin with Shauna Geiser, Alivia Preuss and Rosemary Laudenbach each collecting a hit. Laudenbach took the loss in the circle as she went four innings and gave up seven hits, eight runs of which five were earned, two walks and struck out two batters. Abby Berndt pitched 2/3 innings and gave up five hits, five runs and three walks.
