The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met April 9 with 13 members present.

Minutes from the March 12 meeting were approved, and the March Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for April from the Department President was read and discussed.  The State Convention will be June 18-21 in Plymouth.  Our Auxiliary received a thank you letter from the Fergus Falls Veterans Home for a donation supporting resident recreational programming.

In other business:

• Approved the audit report for January-March.

• The March 21 District meeting in New York Mills was well attended.

• Approved a hardship grant for a family member of Isadora Wengel.

• Discussed the Loyalty Day & District 9 Convention, which will be held Saturday, May 2 in Bemidji.

• Buddy Poppy Days will be Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.

• Memorial Day activities will be held Monday, May 25.

• Discussed an event to be held the end of June for the 250th Anniversary of the United States.  The Auxiliary approved donating toward the cost of live entertainment.  Post and Auxiliary members will meet on April 15 to set a date and develop further plans.

• Discussed the RMH Ride breakfast on Sunday, June 14.

• Draped the Charter for past National President Peggy Haake and 3289 Auxiliary members Dolores Moffatt and Loraine Patron, who passed away recently.

• Elected the following officers for 2026-2027: President Shirley Quist; Sr. Vice Kathy Rosenthal; Jr. Vice Lisa Jergenson; Treasurer Celia Piippo; Chaplain Tina Moenkedick; Conductor Adele Butenas; Guard Judy Anderson; and Trustee #3 Tracy Weller.  Myrna Baumgart was appointed Secretary.  Installation of officers will take place at the next meeting.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m.
