Braves blank Gnats 7-0 for first win of the season

Peyton Rondesvedt, Isaac Hamman, Connor Davis and Dustin Geiser combined to give up just two hits as the Bluffton Braves defeated the Nimrod Gnats by a score of 7-0 on May 3.
The win was the first of the season for the Braves who took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Tyson Barthel led off the inning with a single and Hamman collected a two out triple later in the inning. Both hitters would come across the plate to score to give the Braves an early lead.
The Braves added five runs in the fifth inning as Sweere collected a single and scored, Hamman collected a double and scored, Rondesvedt was hit by a pitch and scored, Davis was walked and scored and Gabe Geiser also reached base and crossed the plate to make the game 7-0 in favor of Bluffton.
After being off for Mother’s Day weekend, the Bluffton Braves will return to action on Sunday, May 17 for a doubleheader against the Frazee-Vergas Loons in Bluffton. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
