Lund Boats will take center stage this weekend in New York Mills for the annual Lund Mania celebration.

The day will get underway as the sun is rising over Otter Tail Lake and wrap up long after the sun goes down with the annual street dance featuring the band Whiskey Business on Friday night.

Among the highlights on Friday will be the annual Great Boat Hunt that will feature mini Lund boats hidden throughout the community. Clues for where the boats can be located can be found on the NY Mills Civic and Commerce Association Facebook page beginning at 12 p.m.

From 1-5 p.m. local families can cool off from a warm summer day with free swim, before a fish fry, food vendors and kids inflatables will be held near Central Park in downtown NY Mills from 4-7 p.m. Also from 4-7 p.m. will be a pie and ice cream social at the NY Mills Senior Citizen Center.

No Lund Mania would be complete without the annual Boatville Drags racing down the streets of NY Mills. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., teams of four people will take their turn hopping in a small pedal Lund boat to race against one another for a large traveling trophy. The teams will drive fast, make quick turns and even potentially crash into one another in front of a large crowd of Lund Mania spectators.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. the Lund Mania Fishing Tournament results and awards will be announced in front of the fire hall/city hall, before the fish house festival raffle drawing winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

The annual parade will get underway at 7 p.m. and Whiskey Business will take the stage beginning at 9 p.m.

Lund Mania will wrap up on Saturday with the 3-on-3 tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at the school, before classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes will pull into downtown NY Mills for the classic car show from 3-6 p.m.
