Rural NYM business to remain as a family-owned company

Toby and Meghan Hintzman took over ownership of Sewer Services LLC in New York Mills back on June 1. Toby had worked for the prior owners for a little over five years before the couple took over the business. 

“And it’s always kind of been a thing that he said would be an option when he was ready for it. And then this last winter, he brought it up to us, and I was all for it. I always wanted to do something for myself and not work for someone else, so it was just kind of the perfect opportunity,” Toby said. 

With the ownership, Toby will be in charge of operating the trucks, overseeing the pumping, and all other maintenance operations. Meghan worked as a travel CNA before they took over, and now she organizes the office portion of the company, taking care of scheduling and customer service. 

Toby said that they are hoping to expand the business under their new management. He is hoping to get his inspectors license and gain the ability to do inspections of septic tanks. But with this growth, they are wanting to continue to make sure the business continues to stay community oriented.
