Bibs and napkins will become a useful fashion statement as piping hot ears of corn will be dripping with warm butter on Friday night.

The annual New York Mills Civic and Commerce Association is gearing up for its annual corn feed, which is set for Friday night at the New York Mills VFW. The event will go from 4-7 p.m. and is an annual way for the C&C to say thanks to the community for all of the support they have received over the past year.

The corn feed is one of NY Mills Civic and Commerce’s biggest events as it will give away free ears of corn on the cob while supplies last, while also featuring the first night of the Cultural Center’s annual Kalevala Puppet Pageant. The puppet pageant will get underway at 7 p.m.

In addition to the free corn and puppet pageant, a variety of food and craft vendors will be set up at the corn feed, as well as the senior center who will be serving pie and ice cream.

The event is free to attend and open to the public.
