New York Mills football, baseball and softball games could soon be coming to a big screen TV near youa.

During its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Aug. 24, the NY Mills School Board heard of a plan to install HUDL cameras at the football field, as well as the varsity baseball and softball fields to allow for streaming of these activities. In past years the school district has utilized HUDL in the sports center to stream its activities in the gym, which included everything from volleyball to basketball games.

Following the popularity of streaming games in the gym in recent years, the school district inquired about the potential to add three more cameras to allow additional streaming options. 

NY Mills School Superintendent Adam Johnson said the additional HUDL cameras will allow the school district to stream nearly every home event for the Eagles, with some minor exceptions for sports like cross country and track.

In other news

• Accepted the following donations: school supplies from Bev Mickelson, 60 backpacks and supplies from Lindsay Wedde, $500 from Perham Health for Close Up and $600 from the NY Mills Lions Club for Sisu Sponsorship for the booster club.

• Approved the following appointments: Madison Olson as a first grade long-term substitute, Michel Wedde as bus driver, Katelyn Tervo as .4FTE prek teacher, Kendra Peeters as junior high volleyball, Noah Pesola as assistant football coach, Jackson Veazie as volunteer assistant football coach, Katie Geiser as junior high volleyball coach, Dakota Klosterman as first grade long-term substitute, Sara Zutter as a paraprofessional, Kelsey Aho as a paraprofessional and Kelcie Faysak as a paraprofessional.

Approved the following resignations: Nicole Balbach as a paraprofessional, Tabitha Washek as a paraprofessional, Rhiana Haverland as a paraprofessional, Denise Kupfer as a paraprofessional, Eric Niemi as assistant football coach, Macy Koljonen as a paraprofessional and Heidi Dresser as elementary cross country coach. 

• Approved the e-learning plan and bus routes for the upcoming school year.
