Time to bust a move at 16th annual Ottertail Polka Daze

Accordions will be working overtime this weekend as the Ottertail Lions Club hosts its 16th annual Polka Daze celebration. The event typically attracts some of the biggest names in polka music, as well as hundreds of people from across the country.
Featuring a large wooden dance floor, five bands will perform everything from waltz, two step, polka, country and a variety of music, sometimes at the request of those in attendance.
Polka Daze will kick off on Thursday night when Eric’s Dance Band takes the stage from 5-9 p.m., before getting going in earnest on Friday when Miss Loretta and The Tribute Show perform at one hours shows at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Nite Owls will rotate in and play one-hour shows at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and close out the night at 7 p.m.
On Saturday Julie Lee and her White Rose Band will perform at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., while Jerry B. and Joyce will bring down the house at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The cost to attend Polka Daze is $10 on Thursday night, $20 for Friday’s shows and $20 for Saturday’s shows. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
In addition tot he music, free camper space with no hook ups will be available, as well as food, beer and set-ups served by the Ottertail Lions Club. Polka Daze is sponsored by the Ottertail Lions Club.
