Parkers Prairie showed why they are one of the teams to beat in Section 6A on Friday night as they were able to defeat the New York Mills Eagles by a score of 42-8. 

The Panthers scored touchdowns on their first three drives of the game as they jumped out to an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter. They tacked on two more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 35-0 lead at halftime. The panthers added another touchdown in the third quarter, before the Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard in an otherwise scoreless fourth quarter.

On their lone touchdown drive of the game, NY Mills put together a solid eight play drive that started on their own 34-yard line. The drive was capped off by a seven-yard run by Creed Mursu, which was followed by an Everett Ruther two-point conversion to make the score 42-8 in favor of the Panthers. 

As a team, Parkers Prairie held an 18-6 advantage in first downs and outgained the Eagles by a 352-171 advantage. Most of the damage for the Eagles was done on the ground as they accumulated 143 yards of rushing, compared to just 28 yards through the air. The Panthers picked up 270 yards rushing to go along with 82 yards passing. 

The loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 on the season as they will look to rebound on Friday night as they host the also winless Frazee Hornets. The game will kick off a bit earlier than normal at 6 p.m. 

The Eagles come into the game averaging 4.7 points per game on offense, while surrendering 34.3 points per game on defense.

The Hornets fell to 0-3 last week after falling to Breckenridge 27-2. Frazee also fell to Browerville 26-21 and Menahga 14-12.  They come into the game averaging 11.7 points per game on offense, while surrendering 22.3 points per game on defense.
