Homecoming week is underway at New York Mills School. The festive week kicked off on Monday with coronation in the afternoon, before giving way to a volleyball game against Park Christian on Tuesday night. The dress up day for Tuesday is Jersey Day.

On Wednesday the dress up theme is Celebrity Day, while Thursday’s dress up day will be color day. At night there will be a tennis match against Wadena-Deer Creek and a volleyball game in Verndale.

The week will come to a rousing close on Friday with the dress up theme of Spirit Day. The morning will include a spirit breakfast, elementary pep fest/red wagon parade and a parade through town beginning at 10 a.m.

The parade will begin at the school and head down W. Gilman St. before turning on N Tousley Ave. The parade will then turn on W Park St and N Main Ave. before heading down W Centennial 84 Dr. The parade will then turn by Brunswick on N. Hayes Ave. before returning to the school. The public is invited to line the streets for the parade as school organizations, clubs, groups and representatives from each grade will participate in the parade.

Following the parade the students will return to school for a pepfest, before participating in volleyball and football games in the gym.

The week will come to a close with a football game against Lake Park-Audubon and the homecoming dance back at the school.
