The New York Mills Eagles came out on the short end of a 27-0 loss to Lake Park-Audubon on Friday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, LPA got on the scoreboard with just 3:33 left in the second quarter when Mac Voth found the end zone on an 18-yard run. The kick was good to leave the score at 7-0 heading into halftime.
Unfortunately, LPA scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to pull away for good when Eli Carlson found Brody Hanson on a 25-yard touchdown pass to make the score 13-0.
Austin Francis scored on a four-yard run and Mac Voth scored on another Carlson touchdown pass, this time from 58-yards out to make the score 27-0 in favor of the Raiders.
The Eagles picked up just 134 yards of total offense in the game as they went just 1-12 on third downs and 3-6 on fourth down attempts. A majority of the damage for the Eagles was done through the air as they collected 74 yards of passing on 10-19 attempts, while getting just 60 yards rushing in the game. The Eagles also collected eight penalties for 86 yards and turned the ball over two times.
On the positive side they controlled the clock by holding a 29:21 to 18:39 advantage in time of possession.
