Last Tuesday the New York Mills Eagles cross country team ran in the huge Perham meet, which saw well over 100 runners in each race. The Eagles had a total of six athletes run a personal record. That includes: Bailey Hammond, Loren Underdahl, Matthew Freyholtz, Chavez Cannon, Izaya Cannon and Millie Schik. Sadie Hotakainen was the first varsity girl to finish for Mills and Chavez was the first boy to cross the finish line for the Eagles.

After the meet Coach Heidi Dresser said, “it is exciting to see our runners continue to improve with each meet. Our hard work throughout the season is definitely paying off.”

NY Mills travels to Long Prairie for the Park Region Conference meet on October 20. This meet will have both junior high and varsity races. Then on October 30 the varsity will travel to Bagley for the Section 8A meet.
