Good Morning Bedlam will perform at the Cultural Center in New York Mills on Friday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Concert set for April 14 at New York Mills Cultural Center

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s 2023 Live Music Series continues with the return of local favorite Good Morning Bedlam on Friday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Good Morning Bedlam has become a staying force in the folk genre over the past several years. GMB shows are known for their wild energy and stunning harmonies. GMB has played at festivals alongside artists such as Shakey Graves, Sam Bush, Jason Isbell, The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles, and others.

Based out of Minneapolis, Good Morning Bedlam is made up of Isaak Elker, Victoria Elker, Dawson Redenius, and Kat Seeger. They are continuing to tour full-time in 2023 as they gear up to release an EP in late 2023.

Every Good Morning Bedlam song is a unique twist on what is generally dubbed as folk music.

“We want to surprise our audience from song to song. Rather than creating our music to fit a genre, we allow it to be an outpouring of our own stories and unique sound,” said Isaak, frontman of GMB.

Just when you think you have Good Morning Bedlam pegged, they take you in another direction.

The concert will be held in the Cultural Center’s intimate listening-room-style gallery space on Friday, April 14.

Adult tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door ($2 member discount); students $5. Cash bar and light refreshments available. Tickets can be purchased online at www.kulcher.networkforgood.com/events/53059-good-morning-bedlam-concert or call the Cultural Center at 385-3339. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m.

This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board operating support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
