Roberts wins individual conference title

Three New York Mills shooters finished in the Top 100 in the state during the spring trap season. 

Bode Roberts, Simon Snyder and DaShaun Robinson finished in the top .83 percent of participants in state this year. A total of 11,989 people participated in trap in Minnesota this spring. 

Roberts finished in 34th place individually with an average round of 24.1, while Snyder finished in 58th place with an average score of 23.9 and Robinson finished in 73rd place with an average score of 23.8.

 Eli Aho hit 25 straight targets during last week’s final week of league shooting.

The Eagles also captured first place in the conference as a team with a final total of 16,966.5. Second place was Spring Grove High School with a score of 15,947.5 and third place went to Grand Rapids with a score of 13,067.5. Of the five weeks of shooting the Eagles had the highest team score in the conference every week with the exception of the final week when Spring Grove edged them by just three targets (3,269-3,266).

Individually the Eagles took the top three spots on the boys side with Roberts capturing first place, Snyder taking second and Robinson taking third. 

Nathan Fischer finished in ninth place with an average round score of 22.9 and Will Oakes finished in 11th place with an average round score of 22.8. 

On the female side, Kailey Keskitalo took third place with an average round score of 21.8, while Izzabelle Nesland took eighth place with an average round score of 20.1. 

In their final week of league shooting last week, Eli Aho hit 25-straight targets to lead all shooters with a score of 49. A total of 20 of the 29 shooters finished with a score of 40 or higher. In addition to Aho, Nathan Fischer missed just one target in each round to finish with a score of 48, while Simon Snyder and DaShaun Robinson finished with a score of 47. 

Next up for the Eagles will be the state shoot in Alexandria on June 14.
