Eagles set four personal bests at section meet

There is perhaps no better time to be on top of your game than the post season meets. That is the case for Jada Goeson who continues to break her own school record in the 800-meter run on a nearly every meet basis. 

Last week Goeson qualified for her second straight state track meet after winning the Section 6A meet in Pelican Rapids on Thursday night. She broke her own school record with a time of 2:20.95. 

Aidyn Baune, Katherin Garcia, Alayna Baune, Peyton Lausten placed fifth at the section track meet last week.

Last season the sophomore finished in 15th place at the state meet with a time of 2:26.14. 

In addition to Goeson, the Eagles set four personal bestsand two season best times in sweltering early June heat in Pelican Rapids. 

Brielle Malone competed in the 1600-meter run at the section meet last week.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Aidyn Baune, Payton Lausten, Alayna Baune and Katherin Garcia took fifth place with a seasons best time of 1:52.25, while Payton Lausten finished in eighth place with a personal best time of 50.44 in the 300-meter hurdles. 

Katherin Garcia finished with a personal record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.45, while Elijah Geiser finished with a personal best time of 5:18.52 in the 1600-meter run. 

Aidyn Baune set a new season best in the triple jump with a jump of 33’ 5 1/2”, while Alayna Baune finished with a jump of 32’ 4 1/2” in the triple jump. 

Also competing in the section meet was Brielle Malone who finished with a time of 13:41.69 in the 3200-meter run.

The state track meet is set for Thursday through Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School. 

Elijah Geiser competed in the 1600-meter run at the section meet last week.
