Morgyn O’Dea, Elijah Geiser, Katherin Garcia all placed in the top ten at the Pelican Rapids meet last week.

The New York  Mills Eagles cross country team was busy last week as they ran in meets hosted by Bertha-Hewitt and Pelican Rapids.

Dawson Seelhammer competed in his first varsity race of his career last week in Pelican Rapids.

On Tuesday the Eagles ran at Double Eagle Golf Course in Eagle Bend and ran well. For NY MIlls, Katherin Garcia took ninth in the varsity girls’ race, Elijah Geiser took 11th in the boys’ and Maggy Weller placed second in the junior high girls race.

On Thursday NY Mills traveled to Pelican Rapids and ran in their meet held at Birchwood Golf Course.  In his first ever race, Hank Anderson placed fourth in the junior high boys’ rac,e while Elijah Geiser placed fourth in the varsity race. For the girls, Morgyn O’Dea took ninth in the varsity race with a personal record and Katherin Garcia placed third. 

After the week Coach Greg Esala said, “As coaches, Coach Heidi Dresser and I really enjoy working with these athletes.  They know how to work hard and it is paying off as they continue to improve their race times.”  

The Eagles will run this Thursday at a meet held in Hawley.
