The New York Mills City Council recently purchased back two lots on South Main Ave. after a plan to construct duplexes on the property did not come to fruition.

During its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday night, the NY Mills City Council heard a plan for a multi-unit housing project at 103 and 105 South Main Ave. will not come to fruition due to a myriad of reasons, including the cost of constructing the units.

Since the properties were originally purchased from the city with the intent to construct duplexes, the property owner gave the city the first chance to buy back the properties.
