On Sunday, Oct. 15, a Membership Appreciation Lunch was held to honor the WWII Veterans and VFW Auxiliary Members with 45 or more years of service. 

Family and guests gathered to honor Leo Bernu, Rowland Bauck and Clarence Paurus (all pictured above) and thanked them for showing true patriotism and guiding people, securing the future. Each veteran received a thank you for your service coin. 

There were 25 Auxiliary members honored. When called upon they are there to help, to promote, or to donate their time and talents for veterans. Those in attendance included: Susan VanWatermulen, Wilma Thompson, Dorothy Welter, Carolyn Wallgren, Alice Anderson, Pat Finberg, Carol Windels, Lillian Wallgren, Karen Brasel, Karin Cooley and Celia Piippo. Each Auxiliary honoree received an Angel Pin inscribed with the words “Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes.”
