Arts and crafts will be available as part of the family day festivities at the Christmas Tree Festival.

The annual Christmas Tree Festival will take place this season starting on Saturday, Nov. 25 and going through Saturday, Dec. 2 with a variety of fun for all ages. All proceeds from entry fees and display bids go to Santa Anonymous. This year’s theme is “A Woodland Christmas.”

Kicking off the event on Saturday, Nov. 25 will be a Christmas Brunch at 9 a.m., as well as the TOPS Bake Sale, both located at the Senior Center. From 10 am. to 1 p.m. Family Day will feature tree viewing, children’s crafts, cookie decorating and of course, a visit with Santa Claus in the city hall Ballroom.

Santa Claus will be visiting with local children as part of family day at the New York Mills Christmas Tree Festival. The event will begin on Saturday and run through Saturday, Dec. 2.

Tree viewing will also take place on Monday, Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During Tuesday, Nov. 28, Senior Day will take place with musical entertainment beginning at 1 p.m. and running until 3 p.m. Horse-drawn sleigh rides will be available for the whole family in the Farmers & Merchants State Bank parking lot from 3-7 p.m. Bingo for Books is also being sponsored by the Friends of the Library from 5-6 p.m. Bingo games are free and will include new book prizes.

Tree viewing opens up on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. and two events at 6 p.m. will take place. A ballet showcase and the Cultural Center Fundraiser will both be going on at that time in the ballroom.

Tree viewing will also be available on Friday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with ongoing bidding going on that day.

Saturday, Dec. 2 features the finale of the festival with the Lions Community Christmas Party, themed “Wacky Tacky Sweater Soiree” this year with a 6 p.m. social hour and dinner at 7 p.m. A dance featuring “Pandemic Rocks” will take place after dinner. Tickets are available at Lakes Area Co-op, Cultural Center, Farmers & Merchants Bank, NY Mills City Offices and Mills Liquors.

All are invited to join the community in this holiday event to spread Christmas cheer and unity each year.
