The Bluffton Braves improved to 2-0 on the season after securing a 12-0 win over the Sebeka Stingers over the weekend.

The Braves opened the scoring in the top of the third inning when Cody Barthel led off the inning with a walk, before Isaac Hamann hit a single and Peyton Rondestvedt loaded the bases up when he reached on an error. Josh Dykhoff then brought all of the runners across the plate with one swing of the bat as he hit a grand slam to make the score 4-0. Dykhoff wasn’t done making an impact at the plate as he led off the top of the fifth inning with his second straight home run, this time a solo shot to make the score 5-0 in favor of Bluffton.

The Braves added two more runs in the fifth inning, a pair of runs in the sixth inning and three more runs in the top of the seventh inning to come away with the 12-0 win.

In addition to Dykhoff’s big game from the plate, in which he went 4-5 with two home runs and four runs scored, Logan Pulju went 3-4 from the plate with a pair of runs scored and Hamann went 2-4 from the plate.

On the mound, Josh Dykhoff retired the opening eight hitters of the game in order and pitched the opening three innings of the game. Dustin Geiser pitched a scoreless fourth inning, while Peyton Rondestvedt retired six of the seven hitters he faced in order and Tyson Barthel pitched a scoreless seventh inning to come away with the win.

The Braves will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Staples. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
