Rosalind “Lindy” M. Kilde was born on August 16, 1943, in Richmond, Calif. Her parents were the late Howard Lund, founder of Lund Boat Co. and Elfie (Holmquist) Lund.

Following WWII, Lindy moved to New York Mills, where she attended school, graduating from NYM High in 1961.

On June 28, 1963, Lindy and Clinton Norman Kilde were united in marriage, having two children, Tania and Tyler.

Lindy worked at the New York Mills elementary school. In 1984, the family moved to Moorhead, Minn., where Lindy was offered employment as a paraprofessional while registering Tyler for high school. She loved her job, especially assisting students in the reading program.

Lindy enjoyed traveling and camping in their motorhome along with the occasional stop at a casino. She loved gardening, water aerobics and playing Bingo and card games.

After the death of her husband Clint, Lindy proceeded to live life to the fullest, making new friends at One Oak Place, her retirement village, along with spending time with family members. The family is extremely grateful for the love and companionship Dennis Kilde and family have provided over the past four years. We cannot express enough how happy and independent Lindy was up to the time of her death.

On June 15, 2024, Lindy passed away in the comfort of her children after a three-day battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Howard and Elfie Lund, loving and caring husband Clint, and sister Judy Albaugh.

Surviving Lindy are her children: her daughter Tania (Tim) Schepper of Nipomo, Calif.; her son Tyler (Deidre) Kilde of Fargo, N.D. 8 grandchildren: Sierra (Matt Glick) Schepper; Tea and Tylin Schepper; Ashton and Trinity Kilde; Kiana (Dustin) Starks; Dexter and Dawson Leer. 3 great grandchildren: Archer and Colter Starks; Theodore Schepper Glick. Siblings: Karen (Rick) Dahl of Vergas, Minn., and Gordy (Barb) Lund of Dalton, Minn.

A Graveside Service for Lindy and Clint will be held for family and friends at 1 p.m., on Monday, August 12, 2024, at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New York Mills.
