Construction on the new Tyler Wohlers Trail south of Ottertail has begun to take shape. Planning and developing the trail has taken several years, but construction began in earnest earlier this summer. The trail follows Highway 78 from the public landing on Otter Tail Lake to just south of Ottertail. Local volunteers and the city have been working on constructing a walking trail south of town dating back to 2019, when Wohlers was killed in a hit and run accident along Highway 78 south of Ottertail over the Fourth of July weekend.
