The inaugural New York Mills wrestling team was organized in 1958-59. The wrestling team has had numerous state entrants individually, as well as a team through the years.

Families are encouraged to bring their favorite shotgun and ammunition, along to participate in the various shooting games that will be available. Rush Lake Range will also be providing the use of their air rifles, which was a popular activity at last year’s inaugural event.

Rich Ericksrud, organizer of the now-annual event, said that everyone is welcome to join the family fun and that Rush Lake Range provides an extremely safe environment for shooters, both new and old to participate in the various shooting sports popular in the area.

“Even people that don’t shoot, it’s a great opportunity to socialize and enjoy the great facility that Rush Lake Range has to offer,” said Ericksrud. “Everybody is welcome to come and participate in the range activities and reconnect.”

Door prizes will be available, including four memberships to Rush Lake Range and NY Mills Locker Plant gift certificates. A gathering of the past and present wrestling coaches will also take place at the event.

“There are activities for everybody,” said Ericksrud. “It’s a get together and it raises funds where all proceeds go to the NY Mills Wrestling Club.
