NYM to host LPA on Monday night

The New York Mills Eagles improved to 3-0 in the Park Region Conference with a 3-0 sweep over Verndale on Thursday night. The win comes on the heels of a 3-1 loss to Breckenridge last week in non-conference action. Currently the Eagles are tied atop the conference standings with Wadena-Deer Creek who are also 3-0, while Sebeka is 3-1 on conference action.

After hosting Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Monday, the Eagles will hit the road a bit this week as they travel to Pelican Rapids on Tuesday and Sebeka on Thursday night. The Eagles will return home for an extended homestand next Monday night when they host Lake Park-Audubon. 

Tuesday

The NY Mills Eagles ran into a buzzsaw on Tuesday night as they fell to Breckenridge 3-1. So far this season seven of the Cowgirls 13 matches have ended in a sweep, including Tuesday’s game against NY Mills.

After dropping the first game by a score of 25-12 and the second game 25-21, the Eagles avoided a three game sweep by defeating Breckenridge 25-23 in the third game. Unfortunately the Cowgirls charged back in the fourth game to secure a 25-14 win and defeat the Eagles 3-1 in non-conference action.

Ayla Olson led the way offensively for the Eagles as the senior finished with 17 kills, while Annika Dunrud chipped in with nine kills and Alayna Baune finished with seven. 

Chloe Costin finished with a team high 12 assists, while Gabi Vaden finished with 20 digs and Belle Vaden finished with three ace serves.

Thursday

The Eagles improved to 3-0 in the Park Region Conference with a commanding 3-0 win over Verndale on Thursday night. NY Mills picked up three wins by scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-11 to secure the three game sweep and stay atop the conference standings with Wadena-Deer Creek who are also 3-0 in conference action. 

Ayla Olson led the way offensively as she picked up 21 kills in the game. She also led the team with 13 digs. Chloe Costin remained busy at the net as she finished with 13 assists in the win.
