The New York Mills cross country team ran in two meets this past week as their season now moves closer to the end.

This past week the Eagles ran on Tuesday in the Otter Tail Central meet held at Balmoral Golf Course. All NY Mills’ runners continue to improve as they did very well at this meet. Audrey Weller, Austin Geiser and Jacob Thorsrud all had a PR (personal record), while Maggy Weller, Dawson Seelhammer and Elijah Geiser all had a season’s best time.

The NY Mills team ran at a big meet in Perham on Thursday where the total number of runners at the meet was 1,081. The Eagle team members did well on a crowded course on a hot day. For the Eagles, in the Junior High race, Loren Underdahl had a Personal Record.

After the busy week, Coach Heidi Dresser said, “in the past few weeks our team has worked very hard in practice and with our improved times, you can see that it pays off!”

Coming up for the Eagles is the Park Region Conference meet, which will be Tuesday and hosted by Bertha-Hewitt at the Double Eagle Golf Course outside of Eagle Bend. Then the team will compete in the Section 8A meet which will be held on Friday, Oct. 25th in Bagley.
