Otter Tail County Probation hosted its annual program tour spotlighting transitional housing initiatives. The tour included visits to the Teens in Transition Program and Next Step Program, both run by North Homes Children and Family Services in Grand Rapids, Minn. Additionally, participants visited the new adult male transition home operated by Rewind, Inc. in Perham.

“Assisting our clients, whether adults or juveniles, in successfully adjusting to a conventional lifestyle while receiving support and accountability is a win for the client and our community,” said Probation Director Michael A. Schommer. “Rewind, Inc. is a hidden gem in our own backyard, with passionate staff dedicated to their mission. Public safety is best served when our clients are stable and thriving.”

The program tour offered valuable insights into the importance of transitional housing for individuals striving to reintegrate into the community. It emphasized the collaborative efforts between service providers and local agencies to foster stability and safety.
