Graveside services for Dorothy Strehlow will be held in the spring of 2025 in Greenwood Cemetery, New York Mills at a later date.  Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, Minn.

Dorothy Strehlow, 88, of Virginia, Minn., formerly of Lakeland, Minn., died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Virginia, Minn.

Dorothy was born on March 16, 1936 to Raymond and Laura (Imsande) Dertinger in New York Mills.  She graduated New York Mills High School.  On December 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Floyd Strehlow.  The couple moved to rural Gilbert where the owned and operated Strehlow Construction Co. for forty years.  Dorothy also worked as a travel agent for Express Travel and at Giants Ridge for three years.  She was a dedicated member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora and later Trinity Lutheran in Virginia.  Dorothy was also a member of the Lakeland Fire Department Auxiliary.  She enjoyed traveling with Floyd.  Together they explored many destinations including Europe and various Scandinavian countries.

Survivors include her children: Daniel (Lois) Strehlow of Hastings and Kimberly (Kris) Lillemo of Seward, AK; grandchildren: Lauren (Mark) Grimm, Leigh and Diana Strehlow and Hunter Berts; great-grandchildren: Marley Strehlow-Pagel, Logan and Eva Grimm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; siblings: Eugene, Maurice, Donald and Maxine Dertinger; and her parents.
