A pair of New York Mills girls wrestling team members competed in the 27 team Bemidji Blue Ox girls tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Shauna Geiser was able to pick up a pair of wins in the tournament, including a pin in the opening round of the tournament over Mylee Vacura of Roseau at the 3:49 mark of the match. She lost her next match by a major decision, before edging Josie Kurasz of St. Michael-Albertville by a 5-3 decision to advance to the third round of the consolation bracket. 

Unfortunately, she fell to another STMA wrestler, this time Carlie Krumenauer by a pin at the 4:56 mark of the match to end her tournament.

Also competing for the NY Mills varsity team was Rachel Tumberg who dropped both of her matches by a major decision.
