0The Community Lenten Cantata, made up of singers from Perham, New York Mills, Vergas and other surrounding communities, will be performing the cantata “He’s Alive” by Claire Cloninger and Gary Rhodes. This cantata, directed by Adam Tervola Hultberg and accompanied by Janell Brakel, details the moving events of Holy Week in song and narration.
Performances will be Sunday, April 13 (Palm Sunday) at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills and Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. There will be prelude music to enjoy at each site, prior to the start of the cantata. Janell Brakkel and Stacie Muench will play piano and organ duets at Trinity, and the St. Paul’s Bell Choir will perform at St. Henry’s. Both performances are free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
There is a free will offering option, for those who choose to contribute, and there are refreshments available after each performance, provided by the hosting churches.
