Memorial Services were held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 a.m., with visitation resuming one hour prior at Vining Lutheran Church in Vining. Roger will be laid to rest at Vining Lutheran Cemetery.

R oger Ray Frederick was born on March 31, 1939, in Westport, Minn., to Reeves and LuLu (Judkins) Frederick. Roger attended Staples High School in Staples, Minn., and graduated as part of the class of 1956. He went on to further study at Mayville College before honorably serving his country in the US Army from February 1960 to November 1962.  After which he entered the workforce as an accountant for Midland Insurance for six years in Minneapolis, Minn.

Roger was united in marriage to Beatrice Kay Minge on October 31, 1964, and to this union three children were born: Craig, Brian, and Rachel.

Roger and his family moved to Henning, where he worked at Surge for two years. Then he started his own woodworking business, Frederick’s Wood Specialties, where he made cabinets for companies in Waconia and Alexandria for 45 years before his retirement. He was very talented with his woodworking skills and enjoyed making cabinets for many friends and family; even the loss of a few tips of his fingers wouldn’t slow him down.

Roger enjoyed playing softball in Delano and Henning. He and Beatrice belonged to a square-dancing team for five years in Delano. Playing euchre with friends and family was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed deer hunting, especially deer camp and cutting wood.  He was a dog sitter extraordinaire; but most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family at ball games, pontooning, fishing and playing cards.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Lawerence and LuLu, granddaughter Paisley Rae Lausten, and his siblings Byron and Russel.

Deeply loved, Roger’s passing will be mourned by his wife of 60 years Beatrice; his children: Craig (Peggy) Frederick, Brian (Hannah) Frederick, and Rachel (Mike) Lausten; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
