The Bluffton Braves, who are currently ranked second in the state in Class B, will open its district tournament on Saturday at 4 p.m. at home. Bluffton, now in its first season as a Class B team, was selected as the host site of the District 5B tournament.

The Braves enter the tournament as the top seed and will take on the winner of fourth seeded Dilwroth and fifth seeded Bemidji Blue Ox. The winner of the game will take on either third seeded Ada or second seeded Fergus Falls on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Bluffton. 

The loser of Saturday’s game between Bluffton and Dilworth/Bemidji will drop to the elimination bracket and will play on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Bluffton. 

The district tournament will continue next weekend with the elimination bracket championship and district championship, both set for Saturday, Aug. 9 in Bluffton. The top two teams from District 5B will advance to the state tournament.
