Concert set for Oct. 14 in downtown NYM

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is thrilled to announce a special pop-up performance by soprano Tiffanie Trujillo from New York, N.Y. on Wednesday, October 13 from 6-7 p.m. in the Cultural Center Gallery.  There will be light refreshments available.  This event is free to attend with donations accepted to support the artist and the residency program.  

Tiffanie Trujillo

Trujillo is an American soprano and Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music.  She is the recipient of merit-based scholarships and the winner of multiple singing competitions. Roles she has performed completely and partially include Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, both the title role and Micaëla of Carmen, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, Magda Sorel (The Consul), Mimì (Labohème), Suzel (L’amico Fritz), and Dido (Dido and Aeneas), to list a few. 

Most recently, Trujillo covered the soprano solo in the North American debut of Requiem for the Fallenat New York’s Zankel Hall.  In 2016, Trujillo made her European performance debut with concerts in the Marche and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy.  Trujillo is currently a freelance artist and maintains a private voice studio both online and in-person (tiffanietrujillo.com).  

Trujillo is spending time in New York Mills as part of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s Arts Retreat artist residency program. The Arts Retreat focuses on providing dedicated artists time for creative development and exploration for artists of all disciplines. The program offers a unique taste of life in rural Minnesota,  while allowing the artists virtually uninterrupted time in which to immerse themselves in their artwork.  This program has been bringing high quality artists of all genres and mediums to rural Minnesota for more than 30 years.
