Team to compete at PRC meet on Tuesday

New York Mills wrapped up a busy week on the track with some of their best times of the season. After competing in the Section 6A True Team meet on Tuesday in Pelican Rapids, the Eagles traveled to Perham on Thursday for an invite. At the Perham meet, the Eagles set 15 personal records. 

This week the Eagles will travel to Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday for the Park Region Conference meet and will return to WDC on Thursday for the junior high conference meet. 

Tuesday

Jada Goeson finished with a pair of top five finishes to help pace the NY Mills girls team at the Section 6A True Team meet on Tuesday. The meet was held in Pelican Rapids.

Goeson took fourth place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:43.70 and fifth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.40. 

Aidyn Baune took 10th place in the long jump with a jump of 14’1 1/4”, while Bella Bauck finished in 11th place with a jump of 13’11 1/2”. 

On the boys side, Elijah Geiser was the top finisher as he took 15th place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.77. 

As a team, the boys finished in 14th place with 72 points and the girls finished in 14th place with 460 points.

Pelican Rapids won the boys meet with 966 points and they also won the girls meet with 1732 points.

Thursday

NY Mills found itself near the top of the podium in a number of events on Thursday at the Perham Invite.

Jada Goeson took first place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.76, while Brielle Malone captured first place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:50.52. 

Ashley Kassa took third place in the 100-meter dash with a  time of 13.73, while Katherin Garcia took fourth place with a time of 13.90. 

Macy Koljonen also took third place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.68, while Dixie Dykhoff took fifth place with a time of 3:00.71. 

Payton Lausten captured third place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.99 and Alexis Rudolph finished in fifth place int he discus with a throw of 73’11”. 

On the boys side, Caden Storm took first place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:46.53. 

Elijah Geiser finished in sixth place int he long jump with a jump of 14’1 1/2” and ninth place in the triple jump with a jump of 26’10 1/2”.
