Divers take top spots at true team

The Perham/New York Mills swimmers recently took third place at the Section 8A true team meet. The Yellowjackets finished with a score of 912 to finish behind just Park Rapids with 1,327.5 and Fergus Falls with 1,030. 

Taking fourth place was Detroit Lakes with a score of 886, Thief River Falls with a score of 837.5, Fosston-Bagley with a score of 494 and Warroad/Roseau with a score of 380. 

Among the highlights for the swimmers was a first place finish by Taylor Ziemke in the 50-yard freestyle as she won with a time of 26.02, just .05 seconds ahead of Addison Lauwagie of Park Rapids. Ziemke also captured first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.10

Brittney Lorentz and Avery McAllister took the top two spots in diving as they finished with scores of 425.6 and 363.3.

The Perham/NY Mills swim team traveled to Moorhead on Tuesday night for a meet against the Spuds. 

Taylor Ziemke picked up the first top finish for the Yellowjackets as she took first place by just under a second in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished with a time of 25.84. 

The Perham/NY Mills divers continue to be among the best in the region as Brittney Lorentz took first place with a score of 250.16 and Avery McAllister took second place with a score of 227.45. 

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Lucie Meyer, Lucy Schultz, Taylor Ziemke ad Maggie Vickmark took first place with a time of 1:52, while Molly Meyer captured the top spot in the 200-yard breast stroke with a time of 1:18.39.

The Yellowjackets also captured first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of Maggie Vickmark, Jaelyn Rodewald, Debora Porcelluzzi and Kaydi Mursu finished with a time of 4:29.8.

The Spuds won the meet by a score of 98-81.
