The Minnesota Milk Producers Associations communications team was in the area recently as they captured videos, pictures, and learned more about the Minnesota Milk Producer of the Year which is a dairy operation with years of experience.

Mursu Dairy, south of New York Mills, was awarded as Minnesota Milk’s Producer of the Year for 2022. Tom, Tammy, Jeremy, and Vanessa Mursu will be attending the awards banquet to accept the award.

Each year, Minnesota Milk Producers Association chooses a dairy operation to be their Producer of the Year. Nominations are received year-round from both producer and associate members of Minnesota Milk. The finalists are then chosen by the board of directors and recognized for their achievement.

According to Minnesota Milk, “Minnesota’s Producer of the Year is recognized during the Minnesota Milk Annual Meeting. They provide a human face to Minnesota’s dairy industry and represent all of Minnesota’s dairy producers by having leadership roles in the dairy industry, making a commitment to future generations and being active in their local community.”

Minnesota Milk’s mission is “to advance the success of Minnesota dairy farmers through education, policy, and communications.”

“There are so many farms that are deserving of this award,” said Tammy Mursu, “but it is nice to be recognized.”
